Editorial policy
Sourcing
Every article lists the sources it was reported from, published at the foot of the page. Our publishing system will not accept an article without at least one, which makes this a constraint rather than an aspiration.
We prefer primary sources. A filing, a press release, a regulator notice, an issuer attestation, a company blog post. Where we rely on another publication's reporting, we say which one and link to it.
Verification
A named editor reads every article against its sources before it publishes and ticks a fact-check field to release it. That editor is accountable for what the page says.
Where a claim cannot be verified, we either leave it out or state plainly that it is unconfirmed and say who is asserting it.
Anonymity
We grant anonymity to sources who would face professional or legal consequences for speaking. We do not grant it to let someone attack a competitor without their name on it.
Corrections
We fix errors quickly and say what changed. See the corrections policy.
Independence and disclosure
Sponsored content is labelled as sponsored on the article and in our feeds. Nobody outside the newsroom reviews editorial copy before publication.
Automated tools
We use them, and the AI use policy sets out where and where not.
