Corrections
We correct errors as soon as we confirm them, and we say what changed.
Reporting an error
Email editorial@stablesandcards.com with the article URL and what is wrong. If you can point at a source, include it. We check the claim against the sources listed on the article and come back to you either way.
What happens next
A factual error is fixed in the article and a correction note is appended saying what the article previously said and what it says now. The page carries an updated timestamp.
Where an error changed the meaning of the story, the note goes at the top rather than the bottom.
Where a story is wrong beyond repair, we retract it. The URL stays live carrying the retraction so that anyone who linked to it finds out.
Updates are not corrections
When a story develops rather than turns out to be wrong, we update it and set a modified date. We do not quietly rewrite published articles, and we do not remove one to avoid publishing a correction.
Typos
Fixed without a note.
